Dr Edry completed medicine studies in Tel Aviv in 1993. She thereafter specialized in anesthesiology at the Rambam Medical Center, Haifa, and currently holds a senior position in its anesthesiology department.
In her current position, Dr Edry is responsible for dental anesthesiology in the hospital’s Oral and Maxillofacial Department. A wide range of treatments are conducted in the department under sedation and anesthesiology, including the full range of dental sub-categories for challenging dental populations such as patients with extreme anxiety, patients having chronic medical backgrounds, and children and adults with mental impairment.
Dr Edry is a member of the Medical Faculty, Technion (Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa) and has taken an active part in student training since 2007. In the past she received the “Excellent Lecturer” award in the framework of the exposure course.
The fields of research in which Dr Edry is active include pain and its treatment, and diverse sedation methods. Since 2010, she has been involved in the development of a monitor that identifies and quantifies pain during and post operation. She also led research into preparation for surgery of patients treated with anticoagulants (blood thinners) in the hospital, following her participation in, and recommendations for, the hospital’s committee examining the field.
Dr Edry is the mother of two children, and lives with her partner and family in northern Israel. Nowadays her main hobbies are reading and sightseeing through Israel. As a youth she played violin and classical guitar for many years, and especially loved sailing small boats as part of the Water Scouts activities.
